Abstract: Space exploration is not an inexpensive endeavor—is it worth the cost?  While it is relatively straightforward to calculate the costs of space exploration, determining its benefits (both realized and potential) is significantly more complicated.  This presentation explains the complexity of making these calculations and addresses the question of whether we expend too much, too little, or just the right amount of our resources on space exploration.
