Fall Science Update

The 28th annual Fall Science Update Seminar hosted by the Regional Math and Science Center at Grand Valley State University (GVSU) will be held this coming fall on Wednesday, November 14, 2012. The theme for the upcoming event is “Transitioning to the Next Generation Science Standards”.

The Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) for today’s students and tomorrow’s workforce are being developed through a collaborative, state-led process in which Michigan has a prominent role. The NGSS are based upon the Framework for K-12 Science Education. Come this fall to learn about NGSS with keynote speaker, Joseph Krajcik, faculty member at Michigan State University. He is currently serving as head of the Physical Science Design Team to develop the Next Generation Science Standards.
