MEECS: Climate Change - Science & Impacts

This is the newest unit in the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality MEECS Project. The goal of the Climate Change Unit is to expand the MEECS project to bring issues associated with climate change and Great Lakes sustainability to Michigan teachers and students. MEECS units try to provide students with the understanding they need to make decisions, not tell them which decisions. This one-day workshop will acquaint teachers with the unit and the lessons and strategies it contains. Each participant will receive a notebook of lesson plans and a packet of related instructional materials.

Presenters / Facilitators:

The primary presenter for this workshop is Dr. Janet Vail, Associate Research Scientist, GVSU Annis Water Resources Institute. She is an author for the unit. She will be joined by Karen Meyers, Director, Regional Math and Science Center.
