Energizing Our World Camp


We are currently accepting applications for the 2018 Energizing Our World Camp.  Completed application forms must be received no later than April 16, 2018.

Energizing Our World is a four-day camp designed to spark interest in renewable energy.  Students will participate in activities that provide hands-on experiences with a variety of renewable energy sources, such as solar, wind, and hydro power.

The camp will be held at GVSU’s Allendale Campus on Monday -Thursday, June 18-21, 2018 from 8:30 am – 3:30 pm.  This is a nonresidential camp.  Students will also have the opportunity to participate in an off-site field trip.

Students will participate in a large group introduction followed by breakout sessions providing them with opportunities to interact with solar, wind, and hydro power energy.


Application

The application is now open for prospective students.  Preference will be given to students living in the Grand Rapids Public School, Wyoming Public School, and Holland Public School districts.  Completed application forms must be received no later than April 16, 2018.

Eligibility

Participants must be between the ages of 11 and 15, currently enrolled in the 6th or 7th grade, and be entering 7th or 8th grade in Fall 2018.

Supervision and Meals

There will be at least one counselor for every eight students.  Lunch and snacks are provided each day.

Cost

It is free to attend Energizing Our World.

Transportation

Transportation may be available based on need for students in the Grand Rapids Public School, Wyoming Public School, and Holland Public School districts.
