Come be a part of the
sHaPe (Summer Health Activities and Professions Exploration)
program this summer!
sHaPe is a one-week day camp introduction to the Health Professions for boys and girls currently in 7th and 8th grades.
Students in sHaPe have the opportunity to study anatomy, physiology, epidemiology, and personal health and fitness. They explore the professions of clinical lab science, occupational therapy, physical therapy, physician assistant, radiation therapy, sonography, speech pathology, sports medicine, and therapeutic recreation.
Program activities include exercising in fun ways, making nutritious meals, collecting data in a laboratory setting, using modern medical equipment, understanding different types of therapies for various injuries and disabilities, and experiencing a field trip to Saint Mary's Health Care.

Participants must be between the ages of 12-15, entering the 8th or 9th grade in the fall and Michigan residents. Preference will be given to students attending Grand Rapids Public Schools.
The camp is free. Lunch is provided each day. There is a $25.00 registration fee due upon acceptance to the program. Scholarships are available. Transportation will be available based on need.
