Banner comes in two modalities; Self Service (SSB) and Internet Native (INB).  The majority of the university’s faculty and staff are able to access all the information needed via Self Service.  SSB training is available in a one-on-one format or via a self- paced option.  The self-paced option allows you to learn at your own pace, using detailed training documents to guide you.  To register for the Banner SSB Self Paced option, go to www.gvsu.edu/seminar.  Log in using your network login and password.  Select 'Banner Training' from the main menu, and then choose “Banner Student Self Service – Self Paced Option.”  Your G number and training documents will be sent to you automatically upon registration. All new faculty are invited to attend an SSB training session at new faculty orientation.

Most often, users of INB are those that work in academic and administrative offices who are in need of more detailed information than SSB can provide.  Under most circumstances, faculty do not have a need for Internet Native Banner (INB).   Individual, one on one Banner Student INB training sessions are available in the areas of admissions, records and room scheduling.  To set up an INB or SSB training or if you have questions regarding Banner Student, please contact Christy Mayo at mayoc@gvsu.edu or the Registrar’s office at regdept@gvsu.edu.  If you have questions regarding training for Banner Finance, please contact Chris DeMull.
