National Depression Screening Day Pew Campus

Date and Time

Thursday, October 9, 2014 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM

Description

On Thursday, October 9th , the University Counseling Center will be participating in National Depression Screening Day on the Pew Campus at the Center for Health Sciences Lobby from 10am - 2pm.  Our goals are to:

-           Provide information about the signs and symptoms of the most common mental health disorders among college students

-           Identify and refer students who might benefit from mental health treatment

Interested students may complete a brief screening questionnaire to see if they are at risk.  Students who take part in the screening will have a chance to meet with a counselor, on-the-spot, to discuss their results, which are kept confidential.

Free pens, highlighters, lip balms and stress toys will be provided to those who take the screening.

For those students not on campus on National Depression Screening Day, you may complete a brief screening questionnaire online.  Just visit the University Counseling Center website at www.gvsu.edu/counsel.  From there, click on “Online Student Resources” under the Student Resources link.   If you have any questions or concerns, please visit the University Counseling Center website or call their office at 616-331-3266.
