Healing Yoga can be used to stretch, grow, heal and support anyone, whether they have experienced abuse and trauma or not.  This class aims to provide a safe place and welcoming atmosphere necessary for all of this. The primary purpose of this program is to care for and empower survivors of traumatic events while also providing advocates, friends and family a means to support survivors and participate in their healing process.

Healing Yoga is meant to reduce stress and release tension from the body and mind by focusing on the restorative nature of yoga.  Relaxation techniques, breathing work, and meditation will all be incorporated. This active relaxation class is appropriate for students of all levels. Our goal is to establish a relaxing, educational, and powerful yoga experience for all students, faculty and staff of Grand Valley State University.
