CPR & First Aid Training

If you are seeking certification to meet the requirements for an internship, student teaching assignment, or job YOU NEED TO CHECK WITH YOUR SUPERVISOR TO DETERMINE THE EXACT TYPE OF CERTIFICATION YOU NEED. These trainings are meant for individuals to use in the workplace and schools.  They are basic courses and do not meet any type of advanced or professional rescuer type of credentialing.

These classes meet OSHA Guidelines for First Aid Programs and combine lecture with interactive video demonstrations featuring emergency scenarios that are likely to occur in a variety of environments.  Hands-on training to teach participants lifesaving skills is the basis of these courses.

  • First Aid: Participants learn to recognize and care for a variety of first aid emergencies, such as burns, cuts and scrapes, sudden illnesses, head, neck and back injuries, and heat and cold emergencies.
  • CPR Adult and Child: Participants learn how to perform CPR and care for breathing and cardiac emergencies in adults and in children over the age of 1
  • Infant: Participants learn how to prevent, recognize and respond to cardiac and breathing emergencies in infants under the age of 1
  • AED: Participants learn how to use automatic external defibrillators

For the above classes, certification is awarded through the American Red Cross and is good for 2 years.

  • Bloodborne Pathogens Training:  Participants learn how pathogens are spread, how to help prevent exposure, and how to recognize, report and follow up on employee exposure to infectious materials.  This course is intended only to assist employers with meeting the training mandate as stipulated in the OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens Standard.  Taking this class, does not constitute full compliance with the OSHA Standard, as issues regarding specific engineering controls, PPE, immunizations, exposure control plans and reporting exposure incidents are the responsibility of your employer.

Certification is awarded through the American Red Cross and is good for 1 year for Bloodborne Pathogens Training.
