Captains' Meetings

Beginning in 2012-2013, team captains will be able to view captains’ meetings and complete captains’ meeting quizzes on Blackboard upon completion of registration. Instructions will be provided in the confirmation e-mail that your GVSU e-mail address will receive after completing registration. Team captains must “self-enroll” into the "Intramural Sports" organization within the "My Organizations" module of Blackboard in order to access the online captains’ meeting and quiz. The online captains meeting and corresponding quiz for each sport are located within “Sport Quizzes.” Team captains will have ONE opportunity to receive AT LEAST 13 out of 15 correct on the quiz to secure their team’s spot on the league schedule. If the team captain does not answer at least 13 of the quiz questions correctly, then they or a team representative MUST attend the in-person captains’ meeting for the applicable sport in order to secure their team’s spot on the league schedule. In this case, failure to attend places the team at risk of being replaced by late teams that attend the meeting. A reinstatement fee will be required if space is available to be reinstated. These teams may also receive one less regular season game. Note: Even if the team captain or member of the team cannot attend the captains’ meeting, your team can be represented by ANYONE, even if they are not associated with the team, as long as they can provide the team’s name. Additionally, multiple teams may be represented by the same person. A listing for the dates/times of captains’ meetings may be accessed through www.gvsu.edu/rec.
