Online Captains' Meetings

Click on the link at the bottom of the page to access your Blackboard after reading these helpful hints for viewing online captains' meetings and completing the subsequent quiz.

Note:  If you have registered for Golf Scramble, 3 on 3 Basketball, Dodgeball, or Kickball, then you must attend the in-person meeting.

1.   Log in to Blackboard :

  • You must use your GVSU user name and password to log into Blackboard. Faculty/Staff members – department extensions are not necessary when logging in. 

2.   Self enroll into the "Intramural Sports" Organization & Sport Group.

  • Click on "Community" tab at the top of the page.
  • Type "intramural" to search for "Intramural Sports" organization.
  • Click on the gray arrow that will appear as your cursor hovers to the right of "Intramural Sports."
  • Click "Enroll" and follow the process until you have arrived at the organization page.
  • Once in the “intramural sports” organization, click on “Tools” in the left-hand menu to enroll in the group for the sport which you are registering.
  • Click on “Groups” and complete the process to sign up for that sport group.

3.  View two brief online videos and complete a 15-question quiz.  (We have noticed some possible glitches in viewing the captains' meeting video with various Internet browsers.  Our best recommendation is to view the captains meeting with Internet Explorer.)

  • Once enrolled in the specific sport group, click on "Sport Captains Meetings" in the left menu to begin the videos and take the quiz for the sport for which you have registered.  We recommend that your volume is turned up to be able to sufficiently hear the video.
  • You may complete the quiz only ONCE.
  • When you "Save and Submit" the quiz, you may view your results.

4.  You have now either successfully completed the online captains' meeting or must attend the in-person meeting.

  • You MUST correctly answer AT LEAST 13 questions to be exempt from attending the in-person.
  • If you have not correctly answered at least 13 questions; if you are a free agent; or if you are registered for Golf Scramble, 3 on 3 Basketball, Dodgeball, or Kickball, then you must attend the in-person meeting.
  • In-person captains' meeting dates and times may be found by clicking HERE.
  • If they prefer, then any captain may still attend the in-person meeting.

5.  League schedules will either be e-mailed to your GVSU e-mail address following successful completion of the online captains' meeting and quiz, or will be posted to this website under the "League Schedules" menu NO LATER than 5pm on the day following the in-person captains' meeting.
