APPLICATION INFORMATION

The RA Application consists of two components, both due by 11:59pm on Tuesday, December 20

  1. Completion of online RA Application.
    • Requires completion of five short-answer essay question responses
    • Requires PDF submission of resume
  2. Completion of a 2023-2024 Housing Application in myHousing.

Applicants will receive a detailed confirmation of your RA Application containing information for your review and a separate confirmation of your Housing Application. Absolutely no applications received after December 20 will be accepted. Both the RA Application and Housing Application must be submitted by the deadline to be eligible for the position.

SHORT ANSWER QUESTIONS

It is encouraged that applicants work on the answers to their essay questions ahead of time so that they may proofread and edit responses before submission. Answers should be specific and thorough, but authentic. There are no right or wrong answers.

To avoid the application timing out and losing data entered into the form, applicants are encouraged to draft essay question responses in a .doc and copy and paste responses into the application form.

1. Describe how you have been an engaged and contributing member of the Grand Valley and/or your home community. 

2. Describe a time you received a valuable piece of constructive criticism and how you utilized the feedback.

3. Describe how your viewpoint on a topic or issue has changed or evolved as a result of your experience at Grand Valley, either in or outside of the classroom.

INTERVIEWS

Applicants chosen to interview for the RA position will be notified via GVSU email. Interviews will be held January 26-29, 2023.

Candidates will be interviewed by a panel of representatives including HRL staff members, current RAs, and campus partners from other departments.
