I see President Haas in many places but nothing is as memorable during move-in. Seeing President Haas hand out ice cream to new students and parents during move-in days. Speaking with them and interacting as a President of the University is such a strong statement for new students and such a symbolic time moving towards the start of Fall Semester. President Haas you are appreciated!!

As a student I had an amazing opportunity to work in the Seidman College
of Business Dean's Office - I would frequently see Tom up on the 5th
floor while I was setting up for all the morning breakfasts, meetings,
faculty/staff events, etc. He was always very happy to see the student
workers and made a point to ask how we were doing. As a young
20-something yr old, I felt extremely valuable and influential within my
business college community. Thanks T. Haas!

In December 2009, 3 friends and I drove to Alabama for the NCAA Football championships to see GVSU play. That was also the same day as graduation. T. Haas made it to graduation and then sat right behind us at the football game. He was right there with the students cheering us on and it was the most fun I've had at a game in a long time. T. Haas you are an AWESOME addition to GVSU and 10 years later, I'm still so happy you're our school's President.
