Gjermeni (MSW, 1997), current Minister of Urban Development
Last summer, Erion Veliaj (PLS ’02) was elected mayor of Tirana,
Albania’s capital city. The Tirana municipality is Albania’s largest,
with a population of over 800,000. Before becoming mayor, Eri was a
member of the Albanian parliament and the Minister of Social Welfare
and Youth in the Cabinet of Prime Minister Edi Rama.
