Resolution on Destinations for Study Abroad

The vision of GVSU's Padnos International Center is to provide students, faculty, and staff with opportunities that enhance awareness and understanding of international and intercultural issues & to build collaborative relationships that embrace liberal learning and cross-cultural understanding.

Study and travel in a particular country, and interactions with the people of that country enriches liberal learning and fosters cross-cultural understanding.  Educational exchange reduces intolerance and misunderstandings across nations and cultures.

We resolve that travel to and study in other countries should be generally encouraged, except in cases in which the U.S. government, the GVSU administration, or PIC staff have reservations about the physical safety of the traveler(s).
