Short-Term Faculty Exchange Grant - KINGSTON UNIVERSITY

APPLY NOW

Application Deadline: May 6

PLEASE NOTE: The average exchange is 1 week.

The Padnos International Center seeks applications from full-time faculty at GVSU to participate in the Kingston University faculty exchange program during the 2016-2017 academic year. Several years ago, Kingston University underwent a major curricular transition which has impacted the exchange program in many ways. In an effort to re-connect GVSU faculty with counterparts at Kingston, PIC is designating 2 faculty exchange grants each year for the next 3 years. While applications will be considered from across the University, priority will be given to faculty who represent academic areas where we have the most significant student demand and areas that have seen the greatest challenges since the curricular transition. Additionally, priority will be given to applications that detail an intention for teaching collaboration, involving cooperative student project teams.

Academic areas with significant student demand and/or areas in which collaboration can best enhance student exchange and collaborative teaching or research:

  • Psychology
  • Biomedical Sciences
  • Art and Design
  • Movement Science
  • Criminal Justice
  • Hospitality, Tourism Management
  • Business – Marketing, Management, IB, general business
  • Communications – Film/Video, Journalism, media studies
  • Political Science
  • English
  • History
  • Writing

Faculty from other academic areas are welcome to apply. Proposals should outline a strong and compelling case for how the partnership would benefit from your participation in this exchange. Any questions about this opportunity should be directed to either Dr. Mark Schaub or Becca Hambleton in the Padnos International Center.

First signed in 1987, the Kingston Exchange Program has been one of GVSU’s most active partners in developing opportunities for the exchange of students, faculty, and staff.  The diversity of past collaborative projects has created a vast network of collegial connections between our institutions.  Proposals focused on evaluating curricular compatibility are of particular interest given recent major changes that have been implemented throughout the entire KU curriculum.
