Katherine Tullmann received her Ph.D. in philosophy from the City University of New York Graduate Center.
She works within the Analytic Feminist Philosophy tradition to explore how social perspective is shaped by language, cultural representations, and scientific research. The foundation of this research is an investigation into the respective roles of perceptual and cognitive processes involved in our judgments about others’ social identities, including gender, sexuality, race, culture, and class. Katherine has published papers in philosophy journals, including The Southern Journal of Philosophy (forthcoming), Inquiry (2016), the British Journal of Aesthetics (2016), the Journal of Aesthetics and Art Criticism (2016), Behavioral and Brain Sciences (2012), Contemporary Aesthetics (2011), and Erkenntnis (2014), and a forthcoming paper in an Oxford Anthology.
