Ryan Pollock completed his Ph.D. in philosophy at Penn State in 2015. His research focuses upon moral sentimentalism in the Scottish Enlightenment period with a specific emphasis upon the thought of David Hume and Adam Smith. This includes a range of topics such as the possibility of moral progress within a sentimentalist framework, the nature of moral judgment, the scope of sympathy and moral consideration, and the duties of justice. His recent publications include articles in The Southern Journal of Philosophy and Pacific Philosophical Quarterly.
