Geling Shang earned a Ph.D. in Religion at Temple University. He also holds an M.A. from Old Dominion University and a B.A. from Fudan University.
His main interests are taoism, buddhism, history of Chinese philosophy and religion, contemporary continental philosophy. His publications include Liberation as Affirmation: The Religiosity of Zhuangzi and Nietzsche (SUNY, forthcoming).
Professor Shang is the co-director of GVSU's China study abroad program.
