PROJECT FACTS

 

IMPROVEMENTS IN FULTON STREET (Feb. 2012 THROUGH May 2012) - SCOPE OF WORK:

·         Reconstruct approximately 1000’ of telecommunications duct bank and rehabilitate existing street lighting.

 

·         In conjunction with the City’s street lighting telecommunications duct bank and street lighting rehabilitation, Consumers Energy will also be reconstructing approximately 1000’ of electrical duct bank within the project limits.

ACCESS/DETOURS

·         For the project one lane of traffic in each direction of Fulton will be maintained at all times with intermittent intersection closures and north/south detours for Monroe Avenue, Ionia Avenue, Commerce Avenue and Division Avenue.

 

·         Driveway and alley access will be maintained to the extent possible, when construction is in the driveway area, access will be restricted for a short period.   The contractor will provide advance notice so alternate locations for deliveries can be determined.



RESURFACING OF FULTON STREET (May 2012 – June 2012) - SCOPE OF WORK:


·         Resurfacing of Fulton Street will consist of rotomilling the existing pavement, curb and gutter repair, adjustment of utility castings, placement of new concrete whitetopping and installation of ADA compliant sidewalk ramps.

 

ACCESS/DETOURS

 

Phase 1

·         Fulton Street from the Grand River to just east of the Ottawa Avenue intersection will be closed to traffic from mid-May to the end of May.

 

·         Driveway and alley access will be maintained to the extent possible, when construction is in the driveway area, access will be restricted for a short time.   The contractor will provide advance notice so alternate locations for deliveries utilizing these driveways and alleyways can be determined.

 

Phase 2

·         Fulton Street from just east of the Ottawa Avenue intersection to Division Avenue will be closed to traffic from June 4 to the end of June.

 

·         Driveway and alley access will be maintained to the extent possible, when construction is in the driveway area, access will be restricted for a short time.   The contractor will provide advance notice so alternate locations for deliveries utilizing these driveways and alleyways can be determined.

 

OTHER NOTES:

 

·         Local and emergency access will be maintained at all times along the street

 

·         Pedestrian access will be maintained

 

·         Mail delivery will continue. 

 

·         Refuse pick-up will continue.  If your location is missed, please contact project staff and arrangements will be made for pick up.
