Located in the heart of Grand Rapids, Grand Valley State University's Pew Campus provides students with access to community resources such as businesses, hospitals, and government agencies for internships and research serving as a powerful tool for its students to compete in a knowledge-driven economy.
All six of the University's professional colleges are currently based in Grand Rapids. These include the Colleges of Education, Health Professions, Community & Public Services, along with Kirkhof College of Nursing, Padnos College of Engineering & Computing, and Seidman College of Business. These colleges provide a wide array of meaningful programs to prepare students at both the graduate and undergraduate levels.
The Pew Grand Rapids Campus is home to the Richard M. DeVos Center, Cook DeVos Center for Health Sciences, L.V. Eberhard Center, John C. Kennedy Hall of Engineering, Fred M. Keller Engineering Laboratories, State Headquarters of Michigan Small Business Technology & Development Center, WGVU/WGVS, and the Meijer Public Broadcast Center. The University's downtown living centers, Winter and Secchia halls, can accommodate 370 residential students.
The most recent addition to the Robert C. Pew Campus is the $16 million John C. Kennedy Hall of Engineering and Computing opened in May 2007. The new facility is a three-story, 51,800 square foot building and will house classrooms, offices, and labs for the Padnos Colege of Engineering and Computing. The College boasts nearly a 100 percent employment rate for program graduates every year. Between 96 and 100 percent of Grand Valley engineering students pass the Fundamentals of Engineering exam each year, while the national rate hovers around 70 percent.
