Pre-law Education Residential Living
Approach

The mission of the PERL (Pre-law Education Residential Living) program is to provide advising and support to students of any major who are interested in attending law school and pursuing a career in law (also known as pre-law students) after completing their undergraduate degree. GVSU's PERL program is an academic learning and living community designed for 30 students, first-year through senior year.

Even if you aren't sure you want to attend law school, or graduate school, this is a great way to learn more about opportunities available to you after completing your degree at GVSU, not to mention how to make the most of your time at GVSU.

We have excellent facilities in the living center so that you’ll feel comfortable and at home. Starting in fall 2010, we will be located in the the Mark Murray Living Center on the south end of campus, next to Honors and the new south campus dining area. Murray Living Center is a very recently constructed building that features apartments with one, two or four bedrooms, and kitchens. The building includes classrooms, and other common spaces for socializing, studying, or holding meetings.

Besides the physical space, being a member of PERL means you will have many opportunities to meet and network with GVSU professors who teach law, especially a pre-law advisor and PERL faculty director who will hold weekly office hours on-site, as well as members of the Law Society student group.
