Muthoni Imungi, PhD, LMSW, Katherin Foreman, BSW Student, Rebecca Kenderes, BSW Student Refugees face enormous challenges upon arrival in the United States. To support their acculturation and adjustment, they are eligible for a range of human services. Consequently, social workers may find that they are providing services to this vulnerable population. This lecture will familiarize social workers with findings from research studies involving refugee children, adolescents, families and older adults. Findings from the studies can be used to inform practice with refugees.
