Occupational Science & Therapy at Grand Valley State University

The Department of Occupational Science & Therapy takes great pride in the quality of graduates that come through our program.

This quality is evident in the following points:

  • 93.5% 3 year aggregate pass rate for first-time test takers (2012, 2013, 2014) on NBCOT National Certification Examination. The overall pass rate for GVSU OT grads during this time was 100%.
  • 100% of Our Graduates who want to work in the field of occupational therapy are employed in the field
  • 58 Million Dollar State-of-the-Art Facility Including:
    • Patient Simulation Labs
    • Model Living Suite
    • Human Occupations Lab

IMPORTANT ADMISSIONS CHANGE: Admissions deadline for both the traditional and the hybrid program is January 15. It is the candidates responsibility to ensure that all application materials are received and processed by Admissions by the January 15 deadline.

All candidates must select one program for which to apply, simultaneous application to both programs is not allowed.

At least 9 credit hours of prerequisites must be completed at the time of application. The elective and the statistics course are not included in this requirement.

The minimum of 50 hours of volunteer experience must be completed at the time of application.

Effective for the Fall of 2016 admissions, a basic statistics course will be required.
