Biography of Susan Cleghorn
Susan Cleghorn, MSOTR
Susan joined the faculty at Grand Valley State University’s Occupational Therapy Program in the fall of 2008. She received her bachelor of science in Therapeutic Recreation from Illinois State University in 1989 and a master of science in Occupational Therapy from Grand Valley State University in 2002. Susan has practiced as a therapist in a variety of settings including long term care, home care, outpatient clinics, schools, and mental health. In addition, she has been an adjunct instructor at GVSU since 2002, teaching school based occupational therapy and transition skill development. Susan’s professional interests include research in the areas of integrated therapy in school-based settings and aging in place for the older adult population.
Susan lives in Grand Haven with her husband, daughter, and son. She enjoys going to the beach with her family, walking her dog, reading, running, and cheering on her kid’s in cross country and baseball.
