The Life and Legacy of César E. Chávez

Learn about the life of an American hero, César Chávez. Born César Estrada Chávez on March 31, 1927, Chavez was an American farm worker, labor leader and civil rights activist, who, with Dolores Huerta, co-founded the National Farm Workers Association (later the United Farm Workers union or UFW). This presentation will discuss Chávez's life, his work, and how his legacy lives on today.

1.    Participants will be reflect on the life and contributions of Cesar Chavez

2.    Participants will think critically on how Chavez impacted the way farm workers were treated and the impact on agricultural and economic policies

3.    Participants will analyze organizing strategies used by Chavez and their effectiveness and how they may be used today
