Laker Familia Orientation

Welcome... Bienvenidos!

We are looking forward to your arrival on campus this fall and would like to extend an invitation for you to participate in Grand Valley State University's Laker Familia Orientation program. This three-day program is designated especially for Latino/a students to welcome you to campus, help you connect with fellow students, faculty and staff and navigate the many campus and community resources available to you.  It takes place prior to Transitions: New Student Orientation which begins on Wednesday, August 20th.  Details about Transitions are shared once you move on campus.

Ready to join the Laker Familia register now!  Space is limited.


Here are some of the highlights of the GVSU Laker Familia Orientation Program.

Sunday, August 17th

12:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. Move-in (If you are planning to live on-campus housing, we have arranged an early move-in.)
3:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. Students and Parent/Guardians Program and Dinner
(parents/guardians are welcome to attend this portion of the orientation)
5:00 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. Good Bye/Despedida (parents/guardians depart)
5:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Students "Geeting To Know You" session.

Monday, August 18th

9:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Student engagement activities (includes meals)

Tuesday, August 19th

9:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Student engagement activities (includes meals)

Please let us know if you (and your parents/guardians) will participate by Friday, August 8, 2014 as space is limited.  We look forward to the opportunity to greet and meet you at the GVSU Laker Familia Orientation!
