Dottie Barnes joined Grand Valley in 2003 as a communications specialist. Before that, she worked for 18 years in broadcast journalism as a television and radio reporter, anchor, producer and talk show host, mostly in the Grand Rapids market. She earned a bachelor's degree in broadcasting from Central Michigan University and a master's degree in communications from Grand Valley State University.
