Like some species of cicada which emerge every 13 years and some bamboo species which bloom every seven years, once each decade our university springs to new life! It is time to prepare the self study used in our application for re-accreditation by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. Our next re-accreditation review will occur October 13-15, 2008.
Unlike cicada and bamboo, GVSU must undertake extensive preparation to ensure the success of this cyclical event. You can read on this website all about the re-accreditation process now underway.
We encourage you to explore each section to learn more about what is going on and the individuals involved in each aspect of this re-accreditation effort, as well as about the progress we are making toward reaching our re-accreditation goals on a timely basis. The site includes the names and contact information of Self-Study Steering Committee members; a section of Frequently Asked Questions (or FAQs), links to unit assessment plans and products, and a wealth of other information, as well as a link to the North Central Association website.
The website also includes a place for you to ask questions, make comments and participate in the re-accreditation process yourself. We encourage you to make use of this interactive feature to give us your feedback as we undertake this very essential work that provides the underpinning for our entire educational programs at Grand Valley State University.
If there is information you would like to see on this site that is not presently provided, feel free to let us know. We look forward to your returning again and again to this site as the re-accreditation preparations build to their eventual, successful conclusion.
