Sarah Magoon is a dancer and choreographer from Grand Rapids, Michigan. She is currently an Adjunct Professor of Dance at Grand Valley State University, specializing in Jazz. During her time as a Professor she has created numerous works for the Dance Ensemble. She has also taught at Michigan Dance Day, The American College Dance Festival, Brighton Dance Festival, Brookwood Camps in NY, and Universities and Studios Nationwide. She has recently completed a Residency with Texas Tech University where she produced original work and taught classes. In the summer of 2011 Sarah choreographed, danced, and produced Shattering Limits a Professional dance showcase. In 2009, Sarah also graduated from Grand Valley State University with a B.A in Dance. In her time as a student Sarah had the opportunity to perform works by Battleworks, Peter Sparling Dance Company, Thang Dao Dance Company, Pascal Rioult, and many other companies from around the nation. Sarah also works as a teacher/choreographer at Dance Dimensions in Grand Rapids. Her choreography has received regional and national awards from numerous talent competitions. Most recently her work received the People’s Choice Award from the Federation of Dance Competitions. Sarah will be traveling to Mexico in September 2012 to receive her award. She has a tremendous passion for teaching, choreographing, and performing.
