Amanda Maier Violin Concerto

This recital will feature and introduction and a performance of the long forgotten Amanda Maier Violin Concerto. Maier was born in Sweden in 1853 and attracted the attention of composers such as Brahms and Grieg. This concerto, written in Leipzig in 1875 was only discovered three years ago and has only been recorded once so far.
