Jill Kloosterman is a life-long resident of West Michigan. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree and a Piano Pedagogy Certification from Grand Valley State University, where she studied with Dr. Helen Marlais. Since September 2007, Jill has been an Adjunct Professor of music teaching Keyboard Skills for Non-Music Majors. In addition, she has taught piano lessons at Hope College for non-music majors. In 1998, she opened a private studio, specializing in teaching piano to beginner through intermediate level students. She strongly believes that learning music should be a joyful and rewarding experience for students of all ages.
Jill is a member of the Music Teachers National Association, the Michigan Music Teachers Association and the Holland Piano Teachers Forum. As an active member of HPTF she has served on the Board of Directors and many committees. She also has adjudicated for Student Achievement Days throughout West Michigan and assisted with the GVSU Piano Performance and Composition Competition.
