Ellen Pool, Director of Choral Activities at GVSU, studied with Maynard Klein at the University of Michigan where she received M. M. and B. M. degrees in choral music education. She had additional advanced choral conducting study with Donald Neuen at Eastman School of Music. In addition to conducting University Arts Chorale, the Select Women’s Ensemble and Cantate Chamber Ensemble and coordinating the choral program, Professor Pool teaches undergraduate and graduate choral conducting classes. Pool was selected as SSAA State Honors Choir conductor in 2005 for the Michigan School Vocal Music Association. Active as an adjudicator and clinician, Professor Pool is a member of the American Choral Directors Association serving on the State Board and is a member of the Michigan School Vocal Music Association.
