Charese Nederveld

Charese is the Academic Office Coordinator for the Music Department. While new to the academic world, she comes to GVSU with a passion to learn and excitement at being in the Music Department. Previous to GVSU she worked at Amway for fourteen years, her last position being a Project Manager. Her experience includes being a team leader with a background in Sales, Marketing, Administration and Project Management. Her career includes 15 years with McCardel Culligan out of Traverse City where she established the Cadillac area office, working as Office Manager, Sales Manager and area sales rep. She also has a background in the medical field as a Medical Transcriptionist and Administrative work. Working for an attorney in high school generated an interest in the legal field. In addition, she worked in the Legal Department at Amway and freelanced as Legal Admin for an attorney in Grand Rapids.

After graduating in the top 4% of her class at Cadillac Senior High School, she pursued coursework towards a degree in Business Administration with a minor in Marketing. She is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) obtaining most of her PMP education from George Washington University and Amway Professional Development courses.

Charese is a member of the West Michigan Project Management Institute and National Project Management Institute, former member of the Cadillac Chamber of Commerce, volunteer and chaperone with Special Olympics for many years, Amway’s “One by One” program and a participant in the Susan G Komen Race for the Cure, Grand Rapids. She is active in her church, sings in the HarkUp Choir and the Fair Haven Ministries Choir.

Charese and her husband, Larry, live in Allendale. They enjoy spending time with family, driving their Camaro convertible in the summer, hiking, and traveling. Charese also enjoys rollerblading.
