Special Substitutions for Students Studying Mathematics and Computer Science

Approved March 2013 by the Department of Mathematics and the School of Computing and Information Systems

  • For mathematics majors who also have a major or minor in computer science, the School of Computing and Information Systems will substitute the combination of MTH 210, 227, and 345 for the MTH 225 and 325 requirements. MTH 210, 227, and 345 are courses in the mathematics major.
  • For computer science majors who have a minor in mathematics (not for teacher certification), the Department of Mathematics will allow MTH 225 to substitute for MTH 210 in the minor, provided that the “two additional mathematics or statistics courses” are MTH 325 and another 300- or 400-level mathematics course (i.e., not a statistics course).
