These substitutions have not been approved by the department as a whole. Rather, they are substitutions that past department chairs have made for individual students.

For engineering majors or minors

• The combination of STA 220 and EGR 220 substitutes for STA 312 in either the mathematics major or minor.
• EGR 106 & 107 counts as the CS cognate in the mathematics major.

For statistics majors

• STA 412 plus STA 415 replaces STA 312 and one cognate course in the mathematics major.
• STA 215 plus STA 412 replaces STA 312 in either the mathematics major or minor.
