Michigan Mathematics Educators

Michigan Mathematics Educators (#MichME) is a collaborative networking group where administrators, math coaches, math specialists, and math teachers work together to learn and implement effective teaching and learning of mathematics. For the 2019-2020 school year, we will utilize the Taking Action Series from NCTM to focus our learning and implementation. This network is best utilized by district teams. The structure of each day will support district teams by creating space for teams to collaborate and move their vision and mission forward. While this is a group that will focus on what works in teaching and learning mathematics K-12, it will also offer an amazing networking and personal reflection opportunity for all involved.

State to Stakeholders (Learn about the Essential Instructional Practices in Early Mathematics)

The release of the Essential Instructional Practices in Early Mathematics will act as a catalyst for change. This change serves as an opportunity for regional and local facilitators to develop a more cohesive mathematics approach to instruction. Our time together will be spent learning deeply and exploring ways to bring the essentials to life for the educators and students whom we serve. Structured processes and classroom video will be used to best situate the professional learning.
