Guide To Starting A Small Business

This guide is designed to ease a person's entry into the business world, outlining as clearly as possible many of the issues and questions facing prospective entrepreneurs. Information included in this guide is both general and Michigan-specific; from outlining the different forms of business organization and establishment of a basic business plan to complying with federal, state and local tax obligations and obtaining necessary licenses and permits. Though this guide is not a substitute for legal counsel, it is an information source and quick reference designed to facilitate and expedite the process of starting a business in Michigan.
