SBA to Lead Roundtable Discussion on Small Business Financing and the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act in Escanaba

The Small Business Administration (SBA) Michigan District Office will conduct a free Financing Roundtable for current or perspective small business owners who are seeking bank financing on Friday, November 6, from 9 a.m. to noon, at 2950 College Avenue in Escanaba.  The roundtable, hosted by the Michigan Small Business and Technology Development Center (MI-SBTDC) and Michigan Works! The Job Force Board, will help participants identify lending options, introduce the SBA Guaranty Loan Program, and demystify the process of small business financing.  The team will be comprised of a banker from a local lending institution, an SBA representative and business consultants from MI-SBTDC.

"We are pleased to bring our Financing Roundtable to Escanaba for the first time," said SBA Michigan District Director, Richard Temkin.  "Our staff has conducted well over 500 sessions over the past ten years and helped thousands of small business owners understand the loan process.  The roundtable concept allows participants to ask all of their financing questions and better understand what lenders look for in a loan approval.

"Whether you are starting a business or are ready to expand, small business owners should take advantage of this rare opportunity to meet with SBA and bank officials," said Joel Schultz, Regional Director of the MI-SBTDC" at Michigan Works! The Job Force Board.

The roundtables are best suited for those who have good credit, a solid business idea and some money to invest in the business. The roundtable is free, but you must register by calling (906) 789-0558.  Please note: SBA does not provide loan guarantees to real estate investment companies, and this topic will not be part of the discussion.
