Eligibility Information

ELIGIBILITY

Entries are open to the first 120 amateur golfers with a USGA Handicap Index at the time of entry not exceeding 8.0 strokes. All entries must be mailed or dropped off in person to the golf shop at The Meadows GC, 4645 West Campus Drive, Allendale MI 49401.

Senior Division: Applicants must be age fifty or above on June 28, 2008.

SCHEDULE

Saturday, June 28 - 18 holes starting at 7:30 AM at ten minute intervals. Groups will be paired in threesomes. The low 70 scores plus ties will advance to the second round. For the Senior Division, the low 6 scores and ties will advance to the second round.

Sunday, June 29 - 8:00 AM Shotgun start. Players will be paired by first round scores in threesomes. The low 30 scores plus ties will advance to the final round. Final round play will begin at 1:30 PM off holes #1 and #10 at ten minute intervals. Players will be paired by second round scores in twosomes.

Practice Round – A practice round is not included in the entry. One round will be allowed at a reduced rate during certain times. All other practice rounds will be played at regular rates.

The Senior Division Champion will be determined after the completion of the second round.


CONDITIONS & SCHEDULES:

The Grand Valley Amateur Committee reserves the right to alter any of the conditions and schedules herein. The decision of the Championship Committee in any matter shall be final.


PRIZES

A minimum of $1500 in gift certificate money will be awarded.


ENTRIES: FORM, FEE DEADLINE DATE

All entrants shall make application on Grand Valley Amateur forms. Copies are acceptable. Only one entry per person.


Entry fee of $90 shall be paid at time of application by every applicant. No entries will be considered submitted unless accompanied by payment. Entry fee will be refunded for any reason if The Meadows Golf Club is notified (616) 895-1004 before June 21, 2008. After June 21, entry fee will be refunded only in the event of injury or illness verified by a doctor’s statement. There will be a $10 service charge deducted from all refunds. No refund will be granted for any reason after June 28. Any player whose check is returned due to insufficient funds will have his entry denied and returned.

All entries must be mailed or dropped off in person to the golf shop at The Meadows Golf Club. No phone calls or faxes will be accepted.


CADDIES, AUTOMOTIVE TRANSPORTATION

An entrant may provide their own caddie or carry their own clubs for any phase of the Championship. Automotive carts may be used and payment for is the responsibility of the individual participant. Pull carts will be allowed.


CONDITIONS OF PLAY

The Grand Valley Amateur Committee reserves the right to decline any entry. Any person whose entry is accepted shall be subject to the rules and conditions of play set forth by the Committee. The Committee reserves the right to alter the conditions or shorten the competition due to weather or other conditions warranting such action. Any act of unsportsman like conduct will be cause for removal from the tournament or suspension from playing in future events. No special provisions will be made for a player asking for special consideration due to other commitments. All committee decisions on such matters will be considered final.

TOURNAMENT INFORMATION

Information concerning pairings, stating times,. Etc. will be available approx. 5 day’s prior to the event. If you have not received your information within 5 days of the event, it is the player’s sole responsibility to obtain the information.
