Degrees offered by the Mathematics Department

The Department of Mathematics at GVSU offers Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics, with emphases available in elementary and secondary education. Minors in mathematics are also available, including minors for elementary and secondary certification. In addition, we offer a Master of Education with a concentration in Mathematics in cooperation with the School of Education.

Mathematics major requirements

Note that the requirements depend on the catalog year. The information below is for the catalog year 2007-2008.

Core requirements
All mathematics majors must complete MTH 201, MTH 202, MTH 210, MTH 227, MTH 310, and must complete either MTH 495 or MTH 496 to satisfy the capstone requirement.
