Advising Resources

Your academic advisor is the most helpful resource who can answer all your questions about the major, University policies, and more, and if needed, can direct you to appropriate offices. To arrange an advising appointment, send an email to your advisor and schedule a meeting at a time convenient for you and your advisor. Meet your advisor as early as possible and keep in touch by seeing your advisor at least once a semester. Your advisor can help you with many things besides signing forms and suggesting classes to register for. Provide enough notice to your advisor in advance of a meeting and come prepared to the meeting with your planned schedule and any other questions. This way you can make the most out of the meeting.

  On this page, you can find the requirements for students enrolled in the Honors College. Note that students are admitted to the Honors College when entering GVSU.
