Welcome to the home page for the Spring 2008 Joint Meeting of the Michigan MAA and MichMATYC.

Site

 The 2008 Section Meeting is hosted by the Department of Mathematics at Grand Valley State University.  All conference events will be held in the DeVos Center, 401 West Fulton, on the Pew Campus of GVSU in downtown Grand Rapids, MI.  You can register for the conference online by following the link at left; the registration deadline is Friday, 4/25.


Program and Invited Speakers

The conference program will begin at 9 am on Friday, May 2, and conclude following a luncheon address on Saturday, May 3. 

The Program Committee is delighted to announce a confirmed speaker list that includes plenary addresses by Anna Gilbert (U of Michigan), Gail Burrill (Michigan State), Carl Pomerance (Dartmouth), Francis Su (Harvey Mudd College), Jeff Lagarias (U of Michigan), and Chris Swanson (Ashland University).  In addition, we look forward to local-invited talks given by our Michigan colleagues Eddie Cheng (Oakland U), Stephanie Edwards (Hope College), Joan Remski (UMDearborn), and Aklilu Zeleke (Lyman Briggs College/MSU Dept of Statistics & Probability).

Contributed Talks

Contributed talks form an essential component of the annual section meeting, and we are grateful to more than two dozen of our colleagues who will be presenting their work at the meeting.  More information about these talks can be found in the program, which is available from the noted link above.
