The Math in Action Conference is an annual day-long event organized by the GVSU Department of Mathematics and Regional Math Science Center to provide educational resources to K–12 mathematics educators in the West Michigan area. Speakers are faculty in mathematics, mathematics education, statistics, and education, as well as K–12 educators. The program includes concurrent presentations throughout the day. Presentations are designed to provide participants with ideas that they can implement in their own classrooms. Presenters encourage active participation by attendees. Each presentation focuses on a range of grades for which the presentation is relevant. Sessions are applicable to inservice and prospective teachers, administrators, curriculum directors, and college and university faculty.
The conference registration fee includes the cost of coffee and tea at the start of the day and lunch.
The conference has moved to Saturdays in order to accommodate as many teachers as possible.
