The Annual Math in Action Conference

The Robert C. Pew Campus
Grand Valley State University
Grand Rapids, MI

The Math in Action Conference is an annual day-long event organized by GVSU to provide educational resources to K-12 mathematics educators in the West Michigan area. Speakers are faculty in education, mathematics, mathematics education, and statistics, or K-12 educators themselves. In addition to the plenary talk(s), the program includes concurrent presentations throughout the day. Most of the presentations will provide participants with ideas that they can implement in their own classrooms. Many presenters also design their presentations to encourage active participation by attendees. Moreoever, in the brochure, each presentation is tagged with the appropriate range of grades for which the presentation is relevant, helping participants plan their day.

Quick notes

The conference draws more than 200 participants every year, ranging from mathematics majors, most of which are pre-service teachers, to college faculty.

The conference registration fee includes the cost of continental breakfast and a box lunch provided during the day.
