The 2009 Math in Action conference will be centered around the theme “Instructional Strategies for Student Success”. The conference will be of interest to teachers of mathematics at all grade levels, K-12.
Conference Highlights:
There will be two keynote addresses at this year's conference. David and Phyllis Whitin of Wayne State University will focus specifically on ideas related to instructional strategies for grades K-5/6. Debbie Ferry, Mathematics Consultant for Macomb Intermediate School District, will focus specifically on grades 6-12.
In addition to the two keynote addresses, the day’s schedule features four sets of concurrent, interactive sessions that address practical suggestions and activities in line with current recommendations for the teaching and learning of K-12 mathematics.
Call for Proposals:
For the 2009 conference, we are particularly interested in receiving proposals that focus on classroom-tested practices that have effectively promoted student learning in grades K-12. Some particular areas of interest are:
Information for Exhbitors:
The fee for exhibiting at Math in Action is $250. The fee includes a 6 ft. table and skirting, and continental breakfast and lunch for up to two exhibitors. The Eberhard Center has wireless internet access.
