Call for Abstracts

At this year's conference, there will be four sets of concurrent sessions. These sessions are designed for small groups of 30 participants or less, and aim to be hands-on, interactive, practical experiences for the teachers who attend. In particular, we strongly desire that people who attend the sessions leave with tangible projects, assignments, or activities that they can use with their students in their own classroom.

The general topics desired for the sessions are described below:

projects and assignments that involve writing to learn mathematics
authentic assessment: approaches to assessing student learning that go beyond traditional means
Standards 2000: pedagogical activities that implement one or more of the standards discussed in the 2000 NCTM document

If you are interested in submitting an abstract for consideration, please submit an Abstract Proposal form.

Note that the form requests an abstract limited to 30 words; the limit is such to ensure that abstracts may be printed in the conference brochure. If you wish to describe your session in more detail, please feel free to attach additional description.

Abstracts will be considered upon receipt on a first-in basis. The deadline for submission is Friday, November 10.
