Join us to learn about what has been called “the next generation of marine wind turbine design”-- Glosten Pelastar™, a wind turbine floating platform system.

Charles Nordstrom, naval architect and marine engineer with Glosten Associates, will speak at MAREC about the potential of this new technology and what it may mean for the development of offshore wind energy in the Great Lakes or other marine environments.

As the potential for offshore commercial-scale wind energy development in the Great Lakes is explored, new wind energy technology may be adding promising new options for sustainable energy development.

Glosten Associates, an international marine engineering and consulting firm based in Seattle, Washington, has developed Pelastar™, a  wind turbine floating platform system that may eliminate the need for construction of turbines anchored on lake or ocean bottoms. The technology shows promise for reducing both cost and potential environmental impacts.
