Made in Michigan Renewable Energy and Sustainable Technology Show

Made in Michigan Renewable Energy Technology Show, 2011.

Renewable energy technologies and sustainable products produced by Michigan-based companies will be highlighted at MAREC’s second annual Made in Michigan Show being held this week!

The show is open to the public. A $5 donation is requested and will go toward supporting the Great Lakes Renewable Energy Association.

Vendors such as Flint-based solar thermal manufacturer Sunsiaray and Saginaw-based Global Watt will be on display to highlight technologies and products produced by Michigan-based companies.

  • Show open from noon until 7:00 pm
  • Educational Seminars: 1:00-3:30 pm
    • Solar Hot Air Heating:  Ken Pethers, president, Sunsiaray, 2:00-3:00 pm
    • How to start your Business Plan: Eric Seifert, Finance & Strategy Specialist, MI Small Business & Technology Development Center, 3:00-4:00 pm
  • Great Lakes Energy Association membership meeting:  4:00-5:00 pm, open to the public.
  • 25/25 Energy Forum:  6:00-7:00 pm.  A discussion about the pros and cons of a survey to introduce a Renewable Energy Portfolio for 25 percent of Michigan power to come from renewable sources by 2025. Douglas Jester from 5 Lakes Energy and Charles Conlen, director of renewable energy for DTE Energy, will present.
  • Reception:  7:00-9:00 pm to meet vendors and the new GLREA Board of Directors. Michigan-made beer & wines.

  • Photovoltaics and Wind Workshop: 10 a.m.-2 p.m., a workshop for businesses and homeowners. Bruce Lowstuter, president of Clean Energy Systems, will be the guest speaker. Register here. Cost of $25 includes MIM show.
  • Educational Seminars 10:00-11:30 am
  • Green Jobs:  John Sarver, Executive Director, Great Lakes Renewable Energy Association, 11:00-12:00 pm
