Smart Vision Lights recently completed a three-year stay at MAREC and in August 2011, moved from MAREC to launch a business expansion into new space. Smart Vision Lights creates LEDs for industrial lighting applications. The LEDs, the housings, and controllers are created by the company in standard and custom configurations to be applied to assembly lines for quality control checking and other needs. |

Logical Lighting Systems is an incubator start-up company at MAREC, owned and operated by Jason Jesperson, specializing in high quality, highly customizable, computer controlled lighting systems for home and industrial businesses. With retired GVSU professor Jim Wolter at the helm, this company strives to create and market new and improved alternative energy, energy storage, and energy conservation products through internal innovation and partnerships with various companies throughout the region. |

McKenzie Bay is developing energy technologies and management systems. In the wind energy production sector, they have developed a highly efficient x-axis (vertical) wind turbine. The company has acquired a substantial grant from the US Department of Energy to develop and market this wind turbine in hopes of bring the industry to greater prominence and furthering the application of renewable energy in the United States.

A business start-up founded by Gregory Truex, CPA, Michigan PACE Energy Program (MPEP) will provide technical, educational and training services to assist Michigan municipalities, developers, and financial institutions in renewable energy finance using Michigan’s recently enacted PACE (Property Assessed Clean Energy) legislation.
