Amanda MacLeod- 2011 Clarinet Section Member

 
Amanda Amanda graduated valedictorian of the class of 2011 from Kent City High school. She participated in the Kent City marching and concert bands and the Kent City concert choir. She will be studying Music Education through the Fredrick Meijer Honors College at Grand Valley State University. A very active member in her school's music program, Amanda's awards and honors include the following:
 
  • 2009-2011 Head Drum Major of the Marching Eagles
  • 2008-2011 Principle Clarinet of the Kent City Concert Band
  • 2008-2011 Assisted in teaching Beginning Band
  • 2007-2011 Solo and Ensemble
  • 2008-2011 State Solo and Ensemble, Earning Proficiencies I, II, and III
  • 2011 John Philips Sousa Award
  • 2011 Most Outstanding Band Member Award
  • 2007 Rookie of the Year
  • 2010 and 2011 Grand Valley Honors Band
  • 2010 and 2011 Allegan Honors Band

Trevell Burton-2011 Clarinet Section Member

 
TrevellTrevell is a graduate of Lahser High School class of 2011, located in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan (a suburb of Detroit).  At Lahser he was a member of the Lahser Marching Knights where he played the clarinet during football season.  Trevell also was the clarinet co-section leader in marching band, which received a Division I rating at the 2010 MSBOA Marching Band Festival.  During the off-season, he was a member of the Concert Band (Freshmen & Sophomore years) and a member of the Symphonic Band (Junior and Senior years).  Also, after school, Trevell participated in Lahser’s Jazz Ensemble.   Trevell was in the orchestra pit in Lahser’s production of the Broadway Musical Hairspray. He also participated in the Beverly Hills Memorial Day parade.  Trevell's exact major at Grand Valley State University is still undecided, however he plans on studying towards admission to the Seymour and Esther Pandos College of Engineering and Computing.

Evan Crain-2011 Snare Line Member
 
EvanEvan Crain graduated from Midland High School in the class of 2011 and will be joining the Grand Valley State University snareline this fall. In high school, Evan auditioned into Midland High's Symphonic Band and Orchestra as a sophomore and has a diverse experience in drumline, being a member of the cymbal and snare lines, and most recently, the tenorline. Evan has experience with video and audio editing, and with his dad, has produced semi-professional videos of Midland High's marching and concert performances. These can be watched at http://www.youtube.com/mhsmarchingband. He will be studying Finance and Human Resource Management at GVSU in the Seidman College of Business.

Thomas Duebner-2011 Trumpet Section Member

Thomas DuebnerThomas Duebner attended Prospect High School in Mount Prospect Illinois, which is a suburb of Northwest Chicago. He is also an active member in "The Cavaliers" Drum and Bugle Corps. Thomas will be attending Grand Valley State University to study Music Education with performance honors. Some of Thomas' awards include the following.
  • 2011 Recipient of the Semper Fidelis Award for Musical Excellence and Leadership Among Peers
  • 2011 IMEA Honors all-State choir
  • 2011 District 214 Honors Choir
  • 2011 Grand Valley State Honor Band
  • 2011 Illinois Super-State participant
  • 2011 IMEA Jazz Honor Ensemble
  • 2009-Present: Member of the Cavaliers Drum and Bugle Corps
  • 2009-2010 All-State IMEA instrumental
  • 2008-2011 Illinois honor band

Moriah Muscaro-2011 Feature Twirler

Moriah

Moriah is coming to Grand Valley State Unviersity after being a graduate of Walled Lake Northern High School, Class of 2011. She will studying Bio-Medical Sciences, and will taking classes through the Fredrick Meijer Honors College. Moriah comes to the Laker Marching Band after earning State, National, and International awards for Baton Twirling including the following:

  • 2010 North American Baton Twirling Ambassador to Peru
  • 2010 & 2011 Teenage Miss Majorette of Michigan
  • 2011 Michigan Senior State Solo Champion
  • 2010 & 2011 Michigan Senior State Strut and 2-Baton Champion
  • 2010 Miss TU World Majorette
  • 2010 WTA Senior World Majorette Festival Queen
  • 2010 TU International 3-Baton Champion
  • 2009 Miss High School Majorette
  • 2008-2011 Michigan State 3-Baton Champion
  • 2008-2010 Michigan State Rhythmic Twirl Champion
  • 2005 & 2006 Pre-Teen Miss Majorette of Michigan
  • 8-time AAU Jr. Olympic Gold Medalist
